When it comes to weight loss we have two categories of people. We have those who are struggling day and night to achieve weight loss and we have those who are mourning over their weight loss. Well, in this particular article I will deal with very first category. It is those who are struggling to lose weight. True to say, overweight or obesity is a real problem to most people. I know of people who even set up prospects of losing weight as their priorities.
What you need to know is that overweight is not a disease, it is a condition. Again it depends on how you view it; it can be a good or bad condition to you. All the same, we try to fight it because it can even affect our self esteem. Most times people would perceive you as a very irresponsible person if you are overweight. This may affect your relationship with peers or even family. However, the truth is that weight problems sometimes may not be self inflicted. Sometimes it can be generic.
Weight loss can be so simple if the problem of weight is due to poor dietary behaviors. This can be controlled. In this article, I will share a few tips on how you can go about the problem in a way that you attain the desired results. It is possible. You need to cheer up and be ready to follow instructions well. The very first thing you need to know is that you must have the quality of patience if you want results. You will not just wake up the next morning and find that you have lost weight.
What does this imply? That you also need to set up small attainable targets with the weight loss prospect you have. You can begin with as low as losing 2 pounds in a week. Yes, that is a goal that is very possible to attain. This way you can then monitor your progress and see whether you can then increase or decrease your target. What you must ensure in order to succeed is that at all times you must always have a target to work on. If you choose to work blindly you will not get anywhere.
Make it your practice to always commend yourself for the efforts you put. You know no one will recognize what you are doing. You know best why you chose to lose weight and you are the one who will see what progress you are making. This means that your attitude must also be positive at all times. If you are truly interested, you will be able to know what works best for you from the results. You must be keen with everything you try to implement. You are in a school of some sort. This is what you can also share with a friend in a similar distress.
If things do not work out as anticipated, never be quick to give up. Keep trying all other weight loss methods. I am sure there is one that will work for you. You must be ready to try and find it. If things work out, celebrate your achievement. Only ensure that your celebrations do not land you back to where you were. Sometimes we fail to know things not because we are stupid but because we are ignorant and lack interest in certain issues. Take the case of sleep. Most people have never thought deeply about the issue to an extent of getting to know some of the sleep problems that are involved. You will be surprised that you are suffering a sleep problem and you are not aware. Well, this article will enlighten you on sleep problems or disorders and then I will request that you do a personal check on yourself. If you discover a problem, you may seek the necessary help that is available.
Sleep disorders are most of the time seen in the symptoms that one displays. Chronic insomnia for example is most of the time linked to depression or serious stress. Usually it would last a month or more and may also be a result of physical ailment. There is also sleep Apnea which is usually characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness. Sometimes someone may even snore loudly and irregularly or even jerk himself awake violently while gasping for breath. However, the good thing is that there are devices that have been invented to regulate airway that those who have this kind of problem can use to try and alleviate it.
There is central, mixed and obstructive sleep apnea that forms the three types of this disorder. Anyone who suffers this kind of disorder will need extra attention because their lives are in danger as they can black out while at work or even driving. They may suffer high blood pressure, enlarged heart or even heart failure. The most group at risk of apnea are obese men. Again there are sleep specialist who can supervise treatments of these disorder or problem.
There is also narcolepsy. This is a sleep problem that usually results in excessive daytime sleepiness. Those who do not know most times mistake narcolepsy for laziness. This is because a person suffering from this problem can even sleep during critical meetings. They just feel drowsy and go sleeping. Worse still, this problem would sometimes cause two other problems known as cataplexy and sleep paralysis. The former is where one’s knees become weak when excited and just collapses. The latter is where someone would even go to an extent of hallucinating. Sad to say, it had no cure.
There is the problem of Bruxism where one grinds or clenches his teeth during sleep time and interferes with the sleep. This means that no sleep disorder should be ignored. However complex or simple the treatment is, it is better not to ignore any of the sleep problems. You must also be swift in seeking the treatment so that the problem does not escalate and causes more damage.
Because we know what sleep means, we are going to choose to have sleep in a healthful way. We will not tolerate anything that hinders the sleep we have but we will struggle to fight it out. It is your sole responsibility to take care of your health by ensuring good and enough sleep.
Today, no one is ignorant of the ravages that AIDS has caused on people. AIDS is now an international disaster. Even with the coming of ARVs that have brought some hope in the world of HIV, there is still the issue of stigma that is posing a great challenge. This is an issue that has been with us and we’ve always tried to fight it. Does this mean that there is no hope at all? No, there is still a lot of optimism in the battle against AIDS and the stigma that surround it.
We know the scientists are still busy trying to figure out latest developments that can be made on the treatment and vaccines of HIV. The fact that AIDS cases are on the decrease as is indicated with latest statistic reports is in itself a good sign that things are working well. Even promising drugs hold out hope that there is better health and prolonged life. If everyone would work on their attitudes toward people living with HIV, things will be even better.
The fastest way to get through this is to work on your own perceptions. Most people think that those infected got HIV through irresponsible behavior. This is not the case; some people were just victims of circumstances. If you have this in mind, it will help you greatly in trying to kill stigma. There are several ways of contracting HIV not only through sex. This is what most of us fail to understand. Even if you contract HIV through sex, it might not have been your wish to have it like through promiscuity.
We are the ones to find a solution for us. We are all involved whether we are infected or not. We are aware that currently there are no drugs that can prevent HIV. This means that the preventive measures we have in place are only behavioral. The challenge comes when people are unwilling so much to work on their lifestyles but they risk for infection. The difference here is that the trends of infection are still rising though the development to full blown AIDS is dropping. People have proven difficult and unruly.
At least there is also hope for those who already have AIDS. Even though you cannot be cured today, there is hope in the future. If the scientists fail, we know God will heal all of us some good day. This is what we must look forward to. The only obligation we have then is to try and live this life well now in the sense that we don’t sin against God and miss the privilege of regaining our health.
I know all of us love good health. If you are not infected, take good care of the health that you have now. Be responsible, make wise choices and get rewards. If already infected, avoid being blood guilt of infecting others knowingly. You are also responsible for your well being by keeping the clinic visits. This way, you will live long and a good life.
